How to Claim, Verify and Update a Business Listing on KOSMORIO
October 9, 2026

An accurate business listing helps customers understand what a company offers and how to reach it. But simply appearing in a directory does not mean that a business owner has claimed or verified the profile.
Step 1: Search before submitting
Use KOSMORIO Worldwide Discover and your relevant location filters to look for your business name. Check for existing records so that customers do not encounter duplicate profiles with conflicting information.
Step 2: Request a claim
If a listing represents your business, use Claim a Business Listing. The request is reviewed, not approved instantly. Be prepared to provide evidence of your relationship to the business using the approved channel; do not post confidential identification documents in public listing descriptions.
Step 3: Wait for ownership review
KOSMORIO distinguishes claiming from verification. A pending request is not a verified ownership badge. Google’s Business Profile ownership-request process illustrates why administrative review matters when an existing profile may already have a representative.
Step 4: Suggest corrections responsibly
Once your claim is approved, use My Claimed Businesses to propose corrections supported by current public information, such as official website, service area, contact method and opening information. Proposed updates are subject to moderation before publication.
Step 5: Keep information accurate
Review your listing after moves, closures, service changes and website updates. If you find an inaccurate profile but are not the owner, use Report a Listing to request a private moderation review. Avoid posting accusations or sensitive personal information.
Before you claim: a quick ownership and accuracy checklist
- Check for duplicates: Search the business name, official website and location before creating another record. If an inaccurate or duplicate record already exists, report it instead of submitting copies.
- Use the correct representative: Only an owner or an expressly authorised representative should request management access. Submitting a claim does not prove ownership.
- Prepare trustworthy sources: Confirm the official website, business name, service area, public contact method and, where applicable, real operating hours. A public source helps accuracy review but is not the same as independent owner verification.
- Protect sensitive information: Never paste passwords, identity numbers, applicant CVs, payment-card details or confidential documents into a public listing or comment. If KOSMORIO requests further proof, use the specifically approved private channel.
- Know the outcome: A submitted claim may remain pending or require more information. A sponsored placement cannot substitute for identity verification.
What if the details are wrong or an earlier owner controls the listing?
Use Report a Listing for factual inaccuracies and Contact KOSMORIO for an ownership dispute. Do not attempt to take over another business’s record. For comparison, Google Business Profile separates requesting access from independently verifying ownership, while Bing Places separates claiming, completing and verifying a profile. KOSMORIO follows its own moderation policy; these other services do not certify our listings.
No listing yet?
Submit a proposed listing through International Listing Submission. A submission enters review; it is not guaranteed publication or endorsement. Read KOSMORIO’s Business Verification Policy and Listing & Opportunity Guidelines for our current requirements.
